show yourself a little love

A few years back I came across a website that allows you to send e-mails to yourself in the future.  I thought it was a clever idea in terms of sending words of inspiration, funny memories, etc. that would pop up in my inbox unexpectedly to brighten my day months or years down the road.  I think I've only done two of these and the first one arrived sometime this morning.  I don't even remember writing it, which I think is the point; to surprise yourself with your own thoughts, feelings, actions from the past.  So, anyways, this letter was written on Friday, October 17, 2008 and gave me just the encouragement that I needed.  Thanks, me.
Dear FutureMe,

You should have your Masters by now.  Do not fear the job hunt.  You will never be stuck in a career.  You have talents.  God wants great things from you - don't be afraid to pursue them.   Keep making a difference and loving on people in this world.  It's not all for nothing.  Fall in love - it's not as scary as you think.  You are beautiful, now let someone else know it's true about them as well.  Life is beautiful.  I hope you've realized that by now.

love always and forever.
